Laura Maggio joined the Izaguirre Law Firm in November 2017. Laura’s passion in the area of immigration began when she moved to the United States from the Dominican Republic in 2005. Her desire to work in immigration law solidified in law school after realizing that it was the best way to combine her interests in international relations and the humanitarian assistance of others, while still being able to help her own community.
Laura graduated from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in May 2017. Throughout her law school career Laura worked as a law clerk for immigration attorneys, and was on the board of the Latino Law School Association, where she served as a liaison between the student-members and the Colorado Hispanic Bar Association.
She graduated cum laude from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia in May 2014, where she majored in Global Affairs, with a concentration in International Development and a minor in French.
Laura is licensed to practice law in Colorado, and is fluent in Spanish and proficient in French. Currently, Laura works on removal, asylum, and state court cases.
Outside of work, Laura loves to travel and brunch, especially when she can do so with her husband and her Great Dane, Chloé.
